Master the Power of DAX to Elevate Your Power BI Skills
Power BI is taking the world by storm, allowing for amazing transformation in the way you use and present data. Our DAX Booster for Power BI course is designed for intermediate to advanced users seeking to deepen their expertise in the powerful Data Analysis Expressions language that underpins Power BI solutions.
This hands-on course provides an in-depth exploration of DAX fundamentals. With practical examples and real-world applications, you’ll gain the skills needed to harness DAX for dynamic and effective data analysis.
What you get from this course
- This intermediate to advanced hands-on course is focused on enhancing your understanding of the amazing capabilities of DAX.
- We recommend you attend our Power BI Essentials course before attending this more advanced session.
- In this course we focus on the core elements needed to get an in-depth understanding of how DAX works, and the application of this knowledge on real-world practice examples. While DAX is also available in Excel this course is focussed on the application of DAX in Power BI desktop.
- From this course you get an understanding of key elements of DAX language and the ability to develop complex DAX expressions, with a sound understanding of key data modelling concepts.
Pre-requisites
This is an intermediate to advanced course, and users should already be familiar with basic concepts of the Power BI data model and be able to write simple DAX measures such as SUM, COUNTROWS, DIVIDE and TOTALYTD.
If you are not confident with these concepts, then we recommend you attend our Power BI Essentials course before attending this more advanced session.
Full course outline
We recommend our Power Query Booster course to be run in conjunction with this course. Shaping your data correctly with Power Query is key to simplifying your DAX. The Power Query booster course helps you to understand how to implement more complex data transformations efficiently.
We recommended running an additional coaching day. Bring your own data and apply your skills to work on your own, real-life DAX driven Power BI project, with the guidance and coaching of our expert facilitator.
You’ll not only practise your newly learned DAX skills, you’ll also walk away with your own improved data models.
Who Should Attend
- Power BI users who have reached a stage of understanding the basics and now need to extend their DAX knowledge to take their reporting and analysis to the next level.
- Power BI users who need to understand how DAX works and what is possible, while learning how to approach DAX challenges.
