Our client, Creating Communities, is a Perth company of 30 years that empowers communities with transformative strategies that foster connection and sustainable growth. Their purpose is to transform communities by uniting the interests of people, industry and government, driving shared value.
Business Challenge
Creating Communities had accumulated valuable data in their database and were seeking support to extract meaningful insights efficiently:
- Existing Power BI reports were difficult to navigate and not meeting requirements
- Finding insights was extremely time-consuming for staff
- Data import processes required documentation and simplification
- Implementation processes were needing optimization and clear structure
Our Approach
Discovery & Planning
Access Analytic began by hosting a workshop to deeply understand the client’s pain points and goals. This collaborative session allowed us to establish clear timelines and objectives while showcasing the capabilities of Power BI to demonstrate what was possible. Together with the client, we created a plan that ensured stakeholder buy-in from the very beginning.
Technical Implementation
Our solution involved completely rebuilding the back-end data import process with optimization and future scalability in mind. We documented the code and process and created a video tutorial to ensure sustainability and knowledge transfer within the client’s organization.
The front-end interface was redesigned to simplify the discovery of critical insights. Intuitive interaction and filtering capabilities and an enhanced navigation experience with minimized the time required to reach valuable insights.
New ways of analysing the data were put forward by our consultant and adopted by Creating Communities. The experience of Access Analytic allowed us to add additional value above and beyond simply delivering the technical specifications.
Error and Exception checking pages were added to make it is simple as possible to ensure complete and accurate information is presented.
