Overview

Quorum is Perth’s premium small business community, generating millions of dollars of business for its members over its 15-year history.

Business Challenge

Quorum measures the contributions of its members across a variety of activities. The system it was using to track these was very manual, error-prone and time-consuming to maintain as everything was added up in PowerPoint and Trello.

This resulted in errors, wasted time and out-of-date results.

How Access Analytic Helped

We worked with the Quorum Coordinator to redevelop the process of capturing, storing, and presenting the results.

We utilised Microsoft Forms to design a flexible form that members could easily complete themselves, rather than emailing the coordinator. The results of the form were stored in an Excel file, which we then connected to Power BI.

We used Power Query to extract the data the members had entered and combine this with additional inputs to build a suite of dashboard reports that showed the members how they were going compared to the goals set for both individuals and the group.

The report automatically refreshed every few hours.

Business Benefits

  • Significantly reduced time and effort required to enter data as well as produce and update reports. Reports are now also available on-demand at any time.
  • Enhanced functionality and beautiful reporting provided greater transparency, improved accuracy and increased usability.
  • Each member now has their own dashboard of results and can see how they are performing compared to their targets.
  • The dashboard encouraged greater participation in the group’s activities, enabling all members to get more benefit from their membership.
